Sauna warranty guide
A sauna is a big purchase that sits in heat and, often, weather for years, so the warranty matters. Here's what the 191 saunas we list actually offer, read from each seller's listing, and the questions worth asking before you buy.
What the listings say
Most listings give a cabin (structure) term, and some give a separate term for the heater or stove. Where the heater term isn't stated separately, the listing usually gives one term for the whole sauna.
| Term | Cabin | Heater, where stated separately |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 years | 55 | 52 |
| 3 to 5 years | 87 | 41 |
| 6 to 9 years | 43 | 15 |
| 10 years or lifetime | 5 | 7 |
| Not stated | 1 | 76 |
Counts are saunas, not brands. A term listed as lifetime and one listed as 10 years are grouped together here, because our method counts lifetime as 10 years.
Typical cabin warranty by kind of sauna
| Kind | Saunas | Median cabin term |

| Infrared, indoor | 75 | 5 years |
| Infrared, outdoor | 9 | 7 years |
| Traditional and hybrid, indoor | 31 | 5 years |
| Traditional and hybrid, outdoor | 76 | 5 years |

Questions to ask before you buy
- Does it cover where you'll put it? Some terms are for indoor use only, or are shorter outdoors. Get outdoor coverage confirmed in writing.
- What's covered separately? Ask about the heater or stove, the control panel, glass and lighting. These often carry their own, shorter terms.
- Does installation affect it? Ask whether self-assembly is allowed and whether the electrical hookup must be done by a licensed electrician to keep the warranty valid.
- Who handles a claim? The seller and the maker may be different companies. Find out who you contact, who pays for return shipping and how parts are sent.
- What does "limited" or "lifetime" mean here? Ask for the written terms. "Lifetime" can mean the original buyer only, or cover only certain parts.
- Is registration required? Some makers ask you to register within a set time after delivery.
- How long do you have to report shipping damage? Inspect the crates on delivery and note any damage before you sign.
Warranty is one item on our sauna buying checklist, and skipping the fine print is one of the most common buying mistakes.
How warranty counts in our ratings
Warranty is one category in our published method: the cabin term, averaged with the heater term where one is given, with lifetime counted as 10 years. If a listing doesn't state a term and most similar saunas do, that category scores zero for it, so a sauna can't rate higher by publishing less. Commission never changes it.
We read warranty terms from seller listings; we haven't filed claims or tested how any company handles them. The seller's written terms are the final word.
Compare warranties side by side
Put two to four saunas head to head. Sauna Comparison shows each one's warranty next to price, size and wiring.
