99 of the 140 saunas we list publish their wattage, so we can estimate what they cost to run. This page is ordered by that estimate, cheapest first, not by our usual method.
Each estimate assumes four sessions a week at full rated wattage: 45 minutes for infrared and 75 for traditional, warm-up included, at the U.S. average rate from the EIA. Heaters cycle off once hot, so most owners pay less. 41 saunas don't publish wattage and aren't listed.

Running cost is small next to the price
Even the most expensive sauna here to run costs about $505 a year on these assumptions. Over five years, that's less than the price gap between many similar models, so weigh it alongside fit and warranty.
Use your own rate
The True Cost calculator takes your electricity rate and how often you'll use it.
Before you buy
Check what your panel needs, installation cost and running cost. Still deciding on a type? Read infrared vs traditional and indoor vs outdoor, or see how the brands compare. A licensed electrician should confirm any wiring before you order.
